Launched in 2017 and introducing its first releases in 2018 as GIG Games, this company was initially established as an in-house content creating division of GIG. Taking on a slogan “Inspiring gaming ideas”, the newly created wing was sent off to conquer a competitive and densely packed slot creating a segment of the iGaming market.
Located in Marbella, Spain, the company managed to roll out only a few slots before GIG officially acknowledged that it is no longer interested in investing into its newly founded games division.
In a bidding race for a new and developing business, EveryMatrix was the one to win. This is a strong statement for the well-known iGaming business known for building a strong commercial activity, which now has a chance to expand it into the gaming development vertical.
“EveryMatrix is an established B2B brand and entering the game development sector was something which we wanted to do for some time now. Having a creative gaming studio led by a brilliant executive such as Mathias Larsson sets EveryMatrix apart in this competitive industry and we are confident that this combo is going to serve our clients and partners very well,” is how Ebbe Groes, Group Chief Executive Officer & Co-founder, commented on the purchase.
So, what changes for GIG Games?
It is being officially rebranded to Spearhead Studios, and it maintains its portfolio of already launched games, as well as proceeds to developing new ones.
Mathias Larsson, the initial CEO of the label and a true industry veteran, remains at its steering wheel. “I’m very excited to play a part in the launch of Spearhead Studios and continue the work we’ve already started. We have a very talented and highly skilled team which will prove successful in the years to come. Being part of such a thriving company as EveryMatrix will strengthen our offering to the market and will help Spearhead reach a bigger audience,” he said about the deal.
Spearhead Studios is now focusing on contributing to the success of the EveryMatrix company’s groundbreaking CasinoEngine distribution platform that already caters over 8,000 games to more than 140 online lobbies.
