The UK-based story of this method started in 2020, but the brand’s story roots back to even earlier.
Citadel Commerce is a company that stands behind myCitadelWallet, an online payment method available to players from more than 50 countries. Citadel is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, and is a registered Payment Institute (UK) and a member of the UK Electronic Money Association. The initial idea was that the players may fund their Citadel e-wallets from their bank accounts and then transfer money to their merchant accounts.
As the idea evolved, the method turned into an instant banking software that requires no account setup, as well as no need to maintain and refill an e-wallet.
So, how exactly does it work?
- The task is to find whether an online merchant is compatible with Citadel Commerce.
- Then, if this method is available for your country, you are to choose either of the banks that supports it.
- Log in to your bank account and select an account that you want to make a transaction from.
- Confirm the payment.
A few important notes here. Citadel Commerce is a gate rather than a financial institution. Therefore, it will not store cash, nor will it be responsible for refunds. You will have to take care of this on your own by contacting the merchant if the need for a refund arises.
Citadel Commerce does save the history of transactions. On billing, each of the transactions will appear marked as “Citadel Commerce”.
If you are a beginner, you will have limits on the first transactions. There are no definite numbers, and it will all greatly depend on the bank you work with. The platform currently cooperates with over 300 banks in more than 15 countries. The list includes Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Depending on the frequency with which you are using Citadel Commerce, the limits will go up. In case you’ve overused the limit, you will need to wait a day or two.
