A popular poker variant in which each player makes a hand from their two down cards and five community cards that anyone can use.
Synonym: Texas Holdem
Four cards to a straight with a gap inside, e.g. 7543 (vs 7654, an "open ender" that has double the chance of making the straight).
1) In a draw poker game, an odd high card held that doesn’t contribute to a straight or a flush, usually an ace or a king;
2) In poker, a card used to decide the winner on hands that are otherwise tied. E.g a pair of kings with an queen beats a pair of kings with a jack. In video poker, the card may affect a jackpot payout.
A poker variant where the worst hand wins. E.g. when straights do not count, A2345 cannot be beaten.
Receive a card or cards which makes the player's hand stronger than no pair. E.g. Have four cards of the same suit and get a fifth one to complete a flush.
A pair using the middle-ranked card in the community cards in hold'em.
A very strong hand, though not guaranteed to win.
The best hand at the moment, but could be beaten when more cards are dealt. The absolute nuts cannot be beaten under any circumstances.
