Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort will Close in December

Trump Taj Mahal, the iconic casino resort of Atlantic City, owned by Trump Entertainment Resorts will close in December 2014  due to bankruptcy.  Delaware bankruptcy court has approved the casino shutdown by December 12.  The casino welcomed the first players in 1990 and was renovated in 2008.

Taj Mahal is the fifth of the 12 casinos of Atlantic City, NJ to close this year. The cause of this trend may be seen in the growing number of casinos in the nearby states  as well as the rising of online gambling in New Jersey.

Currently, there are six companies authorized by Division of Gaming Enforcement in the State of New Jersey to operate online gambling sites: Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa, Caesars Interactive Entertainment New Jersey--Affiliate of Bally's Park Place, Caesars Interactive Entertainment New Jersey--Affiliate of Boardwalk Regency Corporation, Golden Nugget Atlantic City, Tropicana Casino and Resort, and Trump Plaza associates. Overall, these companies own 16 online casino and poker sites available to New Jersey residents and visitors, and 8 of those are reviewed at KeyToCasino.com.
