Ontario is one of the not many provinces in Canada that offers regulated gambling, and the success of the first year of its existence shows that it has been the right decision to provide Canadian players with an opportunity to have a safe and protected gambling experience.

The regulated gambling market in Ontario was opened on the 4th of April 2022. The survey conducted in March 2023 shows that around 85% of Canadian players who played casino games online in Ontario within the last three months have done so at a regulated website.

Thus, for the first year of work, the gambling market in Ontario delivered about 35.6 billion CAD in total wagers and approximately $1.4 billion in total gaming revenue. Such impressive results allow this province to be among the five best gambling markets in North America.

Currently, there are more than 1.6 million active gambling accounts registered in more than 40 online operators that hold a gambling license in Ontario. Dave Forestell claims that those numbers show that Ontario is one of the best gaming markets in the world. He also adds that the launch of this regulated gambling environment allows the province to have new investments and new workplaces, and receive revenue that has not been captured before as players gambled on websites that have not been regulated by the authorities in Canada.

At the same time, Martha Otton expressed gratitude to everyone who opted for safer, regulated, and protected gambling at one of the operators that hold a gambling license in Ontario. Each of their wagers helps to further develop the market and strengthen its positions in North America and the world.
