In our candid sitdown with Michael Cini, a new Business Owner of ELA Games, we had a chance to find out more about the company and why he decided to stand at its wheel. We also explored the studio’s portfolio and discovered how its vivid and memorable games are produced, as well as spoke a bit about the future plans. 

Q: Hello Michael, thanks for sitting down with us, and congrats on becoming the Business Owner of ELA Games! Please tell us more about yourself and your decision to link your career path to ELA Games.

Hello and thank you for having me, it's a pleasure to be here. My journey to ELA Games has been an exciting one. I've always had a strong passion for games and game development, which started during after-school and weekend gaming back in my earlier days and grew during my time as a Casino Manager. ELA Games has been on my radar for a while having worked closely with them previously. They really stood out to me as ‘ones to watch’ so when the opportunity arose to take ELA to the next level it was something I felt I had to do!

Q: Can we expect any changes to the ELA Games strategy now when you are at the wheel?

As for changes in ELA Games' strategy, we're committed to building on our strong foundation. We'll continue to focus on creating high-end games with creative characters and animations, backed by skilled graphical design with player engagement at the heart of what we do. In the short term, we have already made some big strides with key partnerships and we're expanding our reach to operators within our extensive distribution network.

Additionally, we're on track to obtain recognition from the Malta Gaming Authority, which will open up even more growth opportunities in regulated markets. In the long term, we're forging key partnerships to introduce new and impressive game mechanics and types while maintaining our core strengths.

Q: The vividness and positive vibes of games designed by your studio definitely stand out. How does the team come up with such memorable slot themes? Our readers would be eager to have a sneak peek behind the game development process at ELA Games.

Our team's ability to create memorable themes is a result of their incredible creativity and dedication. We draw inspiration from various sources, whether it's popular culture, history or unique concepts that we believe will resonate with players. 

Our game development process involves brainstorming, collaboration and a commitment to delivering engaging and visually stunning experiences. We aim to transport players to different worlds with every game we create.

Q: Many loved the innovation in Viking Wilds. Now that its sequel is live, what can fans of the original game expect from it? How different is it from the original Viking Wilds?

While remaining very true to its original, lovers of this game can expect an even more immersive and exciting experience. We've added new features, mechanics and installed an instant cash prize feature to take the gameplay to the next level. It's a balance of nostalgia and innovation that we believe will captivate both new and existing fans.

Q: Have you thought about diversifying your portfolio with casino games of other genres?

Diversifying our portfolio is always a consideration. While our primary focus is on slot games, we also have other lines of a ‘live’ product which focuses on gamification and instant cash rewards for players. For example, the ‘Cash Crab’ and ‘Bonus Crab’ features we offer contain social features that allow players to control a live claw machine to win prizes, enhancing the player journey and overall user experience.

Q: Congratulations on the recently obtained license in Romania. Is your portfolio already available to Romanian players?

Thank you very much, it was a great milestone for us to achieve along the regulation road. We're in the process of making our portfolio available to Romanian players and they can expect to enjoy our games in the very near future.

Q: What is next for ELA Games in terms of geography? Are there any new market launches in the pipeline?

In terms of geography, we have plans to expand into new markets by way of our diverse partnerships. We're constantly evaluating opportunities that align with our growth strategy. While I can't provide specific details at the moment, rest assured that we have exciting plans in the pipeline.

Q: What are ELA Games plans for the last quarter of 2023?

As for the last quarter of 2023, we'll be working on exciting projects, strengthening our partnerships, and exploring new avenues for growth.
