Robot Butler Slot Machine [Re-Triggering Bonus Game] Reviewed

Some of the company’s best achievements include numerous software related wins at the EGR B2B Awards from 2010 through to 2017. It has also achieved various awards for excellence starting with the IOM New Organization of the Year award in 2006. The company also earned the Sure Award for Workplace Wellbeing in 2017. The producer has won awards for social responsibility and independent thinking along the way.

I, Robot!

Robot Butler is a video slot game from Microgaming. As its name suggests, the slot has a futuristic theme. The reels are set in a science fiction kind of background and most of the symbols complement the theme. The House where the butler serves is also from the future. The other symbols are Car, Batteries, and Phone. Of these, only the Phone is styled in a futuristic manner. Bright colored high-value card symbols from Ace to Ten also appear on the reels. These are crafted in keeping with the theme.

There is no background music in the normal spins, but the win sounds are pronounced. The free spins have peppy background music as is the usual practice. The wild and scatter symbols show interesting and appropriate animation when they appear in winning combinations. The Robot Butler announces himself and raises his arm to display the tray he is carrying. The Tray is lifted, and the containers are tossed up a bit. Also, the liquids in the containers start bubbling.

Paytable Explained

This is a 5-reel slot game with 20 paylines and liberal betting limits. The coins in the game can have a value between 0.01 and 0.10, and you can bet up to 20 of them on each payline. The maximum bet that you can have per spin is 40.00, which should be satisfactory to all but the most hardened high rollers. Looking at the game, we can safely say that it is old so it is questionable how it might hold up against modern games.

Special Icons

There are two symbols in this game that serve a much more important purpose – the Wild and Scatter.

  • The Wild takes the form of the Robot Butler, substituting for any missing icons on an active payline. It is also the highest paying symbol in the game, awarding 10,000x to anyone who manages to hit 5 Wilds on a single payline.
  • The Scatter symbol can trigger a special feature, but unfortunately, it does not pay both ways as it is the case in most slots.

Regular Symbols

This release uses some interesting symbols that will no doubt pose some interest for you. The variety in symbols is quite good, as you will see:

  • At the bottom of the paytable, you will find standard card icons from Ace to Ten. You will get between 150 and 100 coins for collecting five identical characters.
  • Then, there is a TV Remote icon, which delivers between 150 and 20 coins, while Batteries and Car images are worth between 300 and 25 coins.
  • Moving forward, you will see a House sign, which brings between 1,250 and 50 coins.

Bonuses and Additional Winning Possibilities

The Robot Butler Feature is activated when you hit a Wild symbol on the first and fifth reels simultaneously. When this happens, you will ask the Robot to find something for you. He may or may not succeed, so you have two tries at this. If he does, in fact, find your item successfully, you will receive a payout equal to 100x the triggering bet. But if your luck betrayed you twice, you receive a consolation prize of 4x the starting bet will be awarded to you.

The Gamble Feature is a prevalent one in most slot games and it is also present in this one. After every win, you will have the option of staking your winnings with the hope of increasing them. You will be asked to guess the suit or color of a facedown card. If you guess correctly, you will win a 2x payout for color and a 4x payout for a suit.

Finally, we come to the Free Spins Feature, which can be triggered when you hit 3 or more Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. When this happens, you will be asked to choose one of the Scatters which will reveal the multiplier to your free spins. This can go as high as 5x , while the number of spins remains the same – 12. If during the free spins you hit 3 Scatters again, you will retrigger the feature with the same multiplier.
