AI Integration Highlights New Malta Gaming Authority Oversight Strategy

The Malta Gaming Authority has integrated artificial intelligence into its regulatory processes to enhance licence applicant screening and identify risks within operator data. According to its Annual Report and Financial Statements, published on 7 July 2026, the regulator employs AI across two primary areas, maintaining strict human verification for every automated alert. The first implementation operates within criminal probity checks, scanning seed data submitted during the application phase to flag anomalies. MGA staff then review these flags against regional jurisdictions and internal risk criteria. The second application involves processing regular Industry Performance Returns submitted by operators, where the technology detects underlying patterns and operational discrepancies faster than manual reviews, providing supervisors with early risk indicators.

RubyPlay Buys Splash Tech to Expand Platform Engagement Tools

RubyPlay Buys Splash Tech to Expand Platform Engagement Tools

The contemporary iGaming supplier landscape increasingly dictates that B2B providers compete heavily on engagement infrastructure rather than game content alone, driving studios to build versatile promotional tooling across multiple game providers. Addressing this market demand, RubyPlay has officially entered into a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in Splash Tech. This transaction, financed entirely on an all-shares basis, marks the first step by the Malta Gaming Authority licensed studio beyond traditional game creation into platform-level engagement solutions. This major corporate acquisition comes less than a year after industry veteran Tsachi Maimon assumed the role of chief executive at the company on 1 October 2025. While the specific financial terms of the transaction were not publicly disclosed, the completion of the deal remains subject to standard regulatory approvals, after which Splash Tech will operate fully as a subsidiary.

Since its foundation, it has become one of the most prosperous in the industry, accumulating a great deal of praise along the way. All its casinos are powered by Microgaming, the head software provider in the online gaming business.

The poker room is a part of the Prima Network, one of the largest communities in the world with over 500,000 registered players. As with virtual operators, there is a wide selection of games available in downloadable, instant, and mobile modes.

The owner’s services are supervised by eCOGRA, which guarantees that members deposit and withdraw in a secure environment, and all services are approved by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority of Malta.

The Wagershare is the company’s affiliate program and encompasses all the sites of this e-gaming fellowship. Members’ earnings can be up to 50%.

Owner’s Portfolio

Four of the six gambling destinations are presented here - Spin Palace, Mummy’s Gold, Cabaret Club, and Ruby Fortune – as Jackpots in a Flash and Piggs are not yet available. All of them feature a multi-language option with content available in English, Arabic, French, Finnish, German, Spanish, Turkish, Swedish, Latvian, Polish, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Italian, Japanese, Greek, and Lithuanian.

None of these platforms offer additional betting options. The major software studio is Microgaming, with about 500 items in the downloadable lobby of each brand, and around 400 titles in the instant play mode. Slot machines are the biggest cohort, while the rest of the content consists of a few dozen table games and video pokers, and very little in the way of arcades.

Promotions and Bonuses

Three of the four websites offer a 100% welcome bonus and smaller rewards on the following deposits of 50% and 25% respectively. All promotions are cashable and must be wagered 50 xB. Arcades and slot machines contribute the most while video pokers and table play count about 8% towards the playthrough terms.
