RubyPlay Buys Splash Tech to Expand Platform Engagement Tools
The contemporary iGaming supplier landscape increasingly dictates that B2B providers compete heavily on engagement infrastructure rather than game content alone, driving studios to build versatile promotional tooling across multiple game providers. Addressing this market demand, RubyPlay has officially entered into a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in Splash Tech. This transaction, financed entirely on an all-shares basis, marks the first step by the Malta Gaming Authority licensed studio beyond traditional game creation into platform-level engagement solutions. This major corporate acquisition comes less than a year after industry veteran Tsachi Maimon assumed the role of chief executive at the company on 1 October 2025. While the specific financial terms of the transaction were not publicly disclosed, the completion of the deal remains subject to standard regulatory approvals, after which Splash Tech will operate fully as a subsidiary.
Splash Tech brings highly versatile capabilities to the market, spearheaded by its flagship real-money jackpot engine. Unlike restrictive traditional models, this proprietary system is entirely product- and vertical-agnostic, allowing online casino operators to seamlessly overlay lucrative jackpot prizes onto any existing game portfolio. This flexible engine allows мoperators to overlay jackpot prizes on any casino vertical alongside traditional sportsbook betting, while also delivering advanced free-to-play capabilities across different channels. Following the commercial validation of this real-money jackpot infrastructure in April 2025, the company rapidly expanded its market reach. Due to its flexible architecture, Splash Tech has already secured significant integration and platform partnerships with prominent industry giants, including Kambi, Altenar, GiG, and Bragg Gaming Group.
Following the formal completion of the acquisition, RubyPlay’s extensive network of operator partners will gain direct access to Splash Tech’s advanced jackpot and free-to-play capabilities. Designed to function effortlessly across diverse third-party content, these tools enable operators to execute comprehensive cross-supplier campaigns without being restricted to a single game provider's catalog. The consolidated engagement suite will feature jackpots, free spins, player rewards, specialized missions, and tournaments. Furthermore, RubyPlay plans to leverage Splash Tech’s technology to develop bespoke features for its dedicated, market-focused studios—including Koala Games, Mad Hat Games, xSlots, and Firerose—during the secondary integration phase. Maimon noted that this acquisition effectively moves the company beyond the traditional content silo, establishing it as a premium content and engagement platform provider.
