The company dates back to the beginning of 2000, when it was located in Rhode Island, USA. In 2006, it was acquired by Lottomatica. This deal was worth more than $4 billion. Once the acquisition was complete, the name of the corporation was changed to GTech. During this period, the studio established itself as a leading provider of lottery and gaming services to American, European, Asian and Australian markets.
In 2014, GTech continued its acquisition of major software developers by signing a deal to buy International Game Technology, more commonly known as IGT, and switched the name to IGT.
