An outcome where a player's bet is neither won or lost, i.e. when the player has the same (non-busting) total as the dealer.
Synonym: Push or Tie
A player option to give up half the original bet after the dealer checks for, but doesn't find a blackjack.
Doubling a bet on a hand of two cards, where at least one is an ace. The player must take exactly one more card.
A side bet offered when the dealer shows an ace. A player can wager up to half their original bet and win double the second bet if the dealer has a blackjack (thus losing nothing if the dealer does have a blackjack).
A five-card blackjack hand that hasn't busted, i.e. go over 21.
Acronym for resplit aces. When a player splits aces, they receive a single card on each ace. Getting dealt another ace and being able to split that hand is a distinct advantage for the player.
A deck that contains more aces, face cards and tens, which favors the player.
Doubling down for an additional amount less than the original bet.
A hand that has a hard total of 17 or more. Unless the player is a card counter (and rarely even then), the player should never take another card.
Cards already used in previous hands.
